For those of you who have visited my workshops or have been keeping up with the blog, you may remember our “caller” who wants help with the use of Universal Laws. For those of you who haven’t, click call to go to the download page and listen to the call. You can also read the corresponding blog post here >>>> LOA & LOV Working in Tandem.
Our caller has had a series of career hiccups that have inspired her to seek a way to bring her unique message to a broad audience. She would also enjoy profiting financially from this work but she’s challenged by the transition from W-2 wage earner to successful Author and entrepreneur.
In her seeking she’s picked up a new skill. The use of Law of Attraction through positive affirmations. Like many people her launch of this “new” skill has been a bit shaky because she has yet to drop her old knowledge in favor of these new truths she’s planting. This post is designed to help you and her get further in the study of and co-creation with Universal Laws.
See, earlier I wrote, “she’s picked up a new skill” but affirmation and Universal Law are not new at all. Universal Laws are always in operation. Always have been and always will be. The law of Gravity is not new. To someone who is not familiar with Gravity as a LAW will feel it’s new after jumping off a building believing (s)he can fly. While listening to their loved ones explain the law of Gravity, as they lay in the hospital they may think to themselves, “When did this new thing start? This never happens to the people in the movies and on television.” Then someone will have to explain to them the illusion of media.
Such is life. Our caller is operating in a similar situation to our now hospitalized, would be flyer. Our caller was taught that to be successful she’d need an education and a good job. She didn’t realize that that was someone else’s interpretation of success. She grew up listening to her parents, authority figures, loved ones and friends and they all said the same things. No one told her that success is happiness. Happiness with who you are, what you’re doing and how you do it IS success. No one, not even your parents and trusted mentors and advisers can know what that is to you but you.
Our caller did as she was told. During her early years our caller also listened to those around her and like all of us do she picked up quite a few negative messages. She listened as her friends and family members criticized one another. At some time some of that criticism may have been directed at our caller. Have you ever had an experience where you did something your parents specifically told you not to do and you got in big trouble? To a child that says, “doing things my way is not safe.” This can lead to indecisiveness as an adult. You’ll want to push through and do things that are unorthodox or outside the norm but something just won’t allow you to. Each time you try you’ll meet failure after failure. Or at least what looks like failure. Trying something new always has a learning curve. There is no such thing as failure, there’s only quitting. If you keep working at something eventually you’ll master it. Too many times we hear the negative criticisms in our heads and give up. Then we try to return back to what we were told to do and still we’re just not happy.
Our caller employed the use of positive affirmations but wasn’t feeling the momentum of the shift because she didn’t realize that everything she says is an affirmation. When you first get started, this is what affirming may be like, “there is not anything that I cannot do, be or have.” And in the crevices of her subconscious a little voice answers back, “Oh really, how come you can’t keep a job? And what about that bestselling book you’re writing about celibacy? Who do you thinks gonna read that when reality stars are making hundreds of thousands of dollars off of sex tapes? Really? You really think people want to read about celibacy? Plus, the book is not even finished. What makes you think you can actually write anyway? People are going to buy a book, about a boring subject written by an author they don’t even know? I would say, don’t quit your day job, IF you could keep one!”
All of those “other voices” are also affirmations! And those will prevail because they have much more feeling and momentum from the past. Our caller has more experiences that have proven those negative affirmations to be “true”. So which ones will win out? Even if her positive affirmations are said with feeling and fervor, until she’s learned to quiet those negative affirmations she’ll experience conflict in her life, at best, which is where our caller is on her journey at present. She say’s, “I can get “good jobs” I just can’t keep them.” How’s that for an affirmation? It feels true, she believes it and she’s got plenty of evidence to prove it.
How does our caller make a smooth transition with the use of positive affirmations? Let’s get to solutions. LOA (Law of attraction) is a powerful tool but it’s only one tool but this is the tool of choice for our caller so let’s focus on LOA and positive affirmations. Our caller begins affirming, “there is not anything that I cannot do, be or have.” And in the crevices of her subconscious a little voice answers back, “Oh really, how come you can’t keep a job? And what about that bestselling book you’re writing about celibacy? Who do you thinks gonna read that when reality stars are making hundreds of thousands of dollars off of sex tapes? Really? You really think people want to read about celibacy? Plus, the book is not even finished. What makes you think you can actually write anyway? People are going to buy a book, about a boring subject written by an author they don’t even know? I would say, don’t quit your day job, IF you could keep one!”
Our caller needs to recognize this as her point of attraction. Now she can hear what’s tripping her up. No need to get upset at these negative thoughts because they’re shedding light on what vibratory frequency she needs to clean up. These “answers” are giving her information that she can now work with to make her affirmations more powerful. Remember, these voices think that they are real so they must be respected and reprogrammed to believe the new affirmation. Our caller should answer them in a loving, firm tone, “Well, it may seem that way but I can keep a job. I’m just ready to do something else, now. Even though I’ve never published a book doesn’t mean I won’t. I’m just getting started and I’m willing to accept where I am in this process. I’m just getting started. I had to go to school to learn all the things it took to make a successful career and this is just another kind of school. Like I said, there is not anything that I cannot do, be or have.” Our caller will need to go further and address all the negatives that the voices brought to light, one-by-one.
This is one way to cement positive affirmations so that they are believed and working for you 24/7 just as some of the negative affirmations that you’ve allowed. I can only give you so much in a blog post. Join me for a workshop or on a call. For a calendar of events email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
